Family-owned Antichi Vigneti di Cantalupo is based in Ghemme in Alto Piemonte, where the Arlunno family has farmed since the 15th century. The modern estate took shape after the recognition of Ghemme DOC, with the winery founded in 1969 and developed under Alberto Arlunno; today Alberto and Benedetta Arlunno oversee the estate, with Donato Lanati supervising winemaking. Cantalupo focuses on Ghemme and Nebbiolo, locally called Spanna, alongside other native grapes. Vineyard work, including harvest, is carried out by hand, with strict fruit selection and a low-impact approach that includes integrated pest management and attention to biodiversity in surrounding woodland plots. Its vineyards span varied, mineral-rich soils across the hills of Ghemme and Romagnano Sesia, shaping a style closely tied to the territory.
