Founded in 1968 by Ribeiro growers, Viña Costeira is a Galician cooperative rooted in the Ribeiro D.O., with additional vineyards and wines from Valdeorras. It champions native varieties including Treixadura, Godello, Albariño, Loureira, Mencía and Sousón, combining traditional methods with research and innovation. Grapes come from historic vineyards cultivated sustainably, including centenarian vines surrounding the restored 1742 Pazo de Toubes. The range includes still and sparkling wines, spirits and traditional Ribeiro dessert wines, with a focus on regional identity and respect for the land. Viña Costeira also offers tastings, vineyard visits and local-food pairings at Pazo de Toubes, and donates profits from its Lúa sparkling wines to AFAOR’s Rural Alzheimer project.
