Scout by Leo is a boutique California label founded in 2004 by Danish-born winemaker Leo Hansen, who remains both owner and winemaker. Working through long-term vineyard contracts, Hansen is personally involved in farming and focuses on small-lot, single-vineyard wines, including Chenin Blanc from a dry-farmed block and a Rhône-style blend from a certified organic vineyard. The wines reflect a natural, low-intervention approach: hand-harvested fruit, whole-cluster fermentation, indigenous yeasts, and minimal oak. Sustainable and dry-farming practices are central to the operation.
