Le Rocher des Violettes is an organic domaine in Montlouis-sur-Loire in the Loire Valley, founded in 2005 by Xavier Weisskopf, who remains the owner and winemaker. The estate is rooted in old-vine Chenin Blanc and Côt, including historic parcels planted before World War II, on clay-limestone and tuffeau soils between the Loire and Cher. Farming is certified organic by Ecocert, with manual harvests, parcel-by-parcel vinification, and spontaneous fermentations. Wines are raised in a mix of stainless steel, neutral oak, concrete, and Allier oak, with élevage in tuffeau troglodyte cellars. The focus is on site-driven Montlouis and Touraine wines shaped by traditional cellar work and careful vineyard stewardship.
