Producer

Josep Grau

Spain

Founded in 2003, Josep Grau Viticultor is a family-run, wholly owned estate operated by Josep Grau, who oversees both the vineyards and cellar. Based in Priorat and also working vineyards in Montsant, the estate farms certified-organic vineyards using biodynamic practices, without herbicides or pesticides. All work is carried out by hand, with hand harvesting and natural, spontaneous fermentations. The vineyards include poor mineral soils and Priorat’s characteristic licorella slate. Grau’s direct involvement as owner, viticulturist, and winemaker defines a hands-on, artisanal approach focused on expressing the character of the sites.
