Château La Freynelle is a family-owned estate in Daignac, Entre-Deux-Mers, Bordeaux, led by Véronique Barthe, who inherited the property at 22 and oversees its winemaking. She is the first female winemaker in seven generations, working with enologist Stéphane Toutoundji. The estate has followed reasoned pest management since 2000, uses no insecticides, has reduced phytosanitary products by 50%, recycles all water in its vineyards and cellars, and holds a Sustainable Farming label. Its white vineyards are planted mainly to Sauvignon Blanc, with Sémillon and Muscadelle, producing fresh, varietally focused Bordeaux whites alongside the estate’s other wines.
