Château Haut‑Simard

France

Haut‑Simard is a small, family‑owned estate in the southern part of Saint‑Émilion, Bordeaux, managed by the Vauthier family. The property returned to the family in 2008 and produces a limited, high‑quality Saint‑Émilion Grand Cru. The wine is noted for its density and aromatic complexity, with a high proportion of Cabernet Franc. The vineyard covers about 10 hectares on clay‑limestone soils with a south‑south‑west exposure, planted with 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Merlot. Day‑to‑day management is handled by owner Alain Vauthier and his daughter Pauline Vauthier.
