Cal Batllet is a family estate in Gratallops, Priorat, restored and operated by Marc Ripoll in 2000. The family’s vineyards, inherited from his great-grandparents, lie on steep terraces of llicorella slate around Gratallops and Torroja del Priorat, including very old vines. Managed organically without stated certification, the estate focuses on recovering traditional Priorat varieties, especially Escanya-vella and Cariñena. Wines are made with wild yeast and barrel fermentation, producing intense, concentrated expressions with strong character and a clear sense of place.
