Solicantus is a Bordeaux project founded and driven by Indian entrepreneur Namratha Prashanth, who moved from Bangalore to Bordeaux and studied wine marketing at INSEEC. Launched in partnership with fourth-generation Bordeaux winemaker Corinne Chevrier, the brand works with growers in Blaye for its reds and Entre-Deux-Mers for its whites, rather than owning vineyards itself. Its wines are made with traditional Bordeaux savoir faire; the Blaye vineyard source is described as sustainably farmed and officially organic. Solicantus focuses on limited bottlings, including a Merlot-led red aged in French oak. The name combines the Latin words for “soil” and “melody,” reflecting the intended harmony between terroir and winemaking. A portion of sales supports education for girls in India through the Mukul Madhav Foundation, while Prashanth also designs the labels herself.
