Indaba is a Western Cape wine brand founded by Cape Classics importer Andre Shearer to support education and social progress in the Cape Winelands. Its grapes are handpicked from diverse soils, including Table Mountain sandstone, limestone and Karoo clay, and the brand emphasizes sustainable farming within the Cape Floral Kingdom. Winemaker Bruwer Raats, who joined in 2008, follows a terroir-driven approach with minimal interference. The wines are fresh, juicy, approachable and food-friendly, with a focus on accessible expressions of varieties including Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Through the Indaba Foundation, sales support early-childhood teacher training in under-resourced South African communities; the brand has also supported scholarships and other local initiatives.
