Founded in 1870 by Manoel Pedro Guedes, Aveleda remains family-owned and is now led by the fifth generation. Based at Quinta da Aveleda in the Vale do Sousa, Minho, the producer works across several Portuguese regions, with particular expertise in Loureiro and Alvarinho in Vinho Verde. Its wines combine regional character with a philosophy of continuous improvement, guided by detailed viticulture and modern winemaking under Diogo Campilho. Sustainability is central: vineyards use green cover, mulching, precision viticulture and biodiversity planting, while the estate protects more than 320 species and plants over 1,000 trees annually. Historic gardens and architectural heritage further express the family’s long connection to the land.
