Stags' Leap Winery

Stags’ Leap Winery is a historic Napa Valley estate in California’s Stags Leap appellation, at the base of the Palisades. Founded as a winery in 1970 by Warren Winiarski and now owned by the Antinori family, it combines a long property history dating to the late 19th century with a strong estate identity. The vineyard’s volcanic rhyolite, tuff, and Bale loam soils, along with its sheltered valley setting, shape a slow, even ripening profile. The estate is known especially for Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah, alongside Merlot and other Bordeaux and Rhône varieties. Notes also highlight dry-farmed, head-trained heritage vines in the Ne Cede Malis block and a commitment to sustainable practices. Winemaking is described as fruit-focused, aiming to express terroir rather than the winemaker’s hand.
