Founded by Al Scheid in 1972, Scheid Family Wines is a family-led, vertically integrated producer in Monterey County’s Salinas Valley. It farms estate vineyards across the region and makes estate-grown wines alongside private-label brands distributed internationally. Sustainability is central to the operation: its vineyards and winery hold CCSW, SIP and GlobalG.A.P. certifications, with organic certification for selected vineyards and brands. The winery is powered entirely by wind energy from a 400-foot turbine, while drip irrigation and water-conservation practices support responsible farming. Although publicly owned, the business remains under Scheid family leadership.
