Thunevin-Calvet

France

Thunevin-Calvet is a collaborative domaine in Maury, Roussillon, founded in 2001 by Maury native Jean-Roger Calvet and Jean-Luc Thunevin, with Marie Calvet also involved. Its vineyards lie mainly on schistous marls, with granite parcels in Lesquerde, and are planted largely to old Grenache and Carignan alongside Syrah and Mourvèdre. The estate follows an eco-responsible approach, observing each parcel to guide environmentally sensitive interventions. Hand harvesting, vineyard sorting and traditional vinification in cement vats support a terroir-focused style, while selected wines mature in cement, barrels, demi-muids or foudres. The ecological winery, built in 2008, incorporates geothermal climate control, photovoltaic panels, wastewater recovery and Mediterranean planting. The domaine produces red, white, rosé and sweet wines, including Maury natural sweet wines.
