Rudi Pichler

Austria

Rudi Pichler is a family-owned estate in the Wachau, Niederösterreich, operated by Rudi Pichler himself. The family’s winegrowing roots go back to the 1700s, while the estate is noted as founded in 1904; Rudi Pichler III took over in 1997. A member of Vinea Wachau, the winery follows its codex and sustainability parameters. Farming and cellar work emphasize low yields, careful hand harvesting, hand removal of botrytis, foot-crushing, vegan fining agents, no malolactic fermentation, and stainless-steel vinification. The result is a focused, hands-on producer with a clear quality-minded approach rooted in Wachau tradition.
