Martinelli is a Sonoma County producer with family roots in the Russian River Valley dating to the late 1880s. Its estate vineyards span the Russian River Valley, Green Valley, and Fort Ross-Seaview, with all sites certified sustainably farmed; the Zinfandel blocks are organically farmed and head-trained. The winery focuses on small-production, vineyard-designated wines, including Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, and Syrah, emphasizing the character of individual sites and vintages. Current winemaking is led by Courtney Wagner, using a minimalist approach with natural-yeast fermentation. The business has fifth-generation Martinelli involvement, although ownership transferred to Turley Wine Cellars in 2014.
