Domaine Weinbach is a long-established family estate at the foot of the Schlossberg hill in Alsace, founded in 1612 and owned by the Faller family since 1898. Today it remains in family hands, led by Catherine Faller with her sons, following generations including Colette and Laurence Faller. The domaine farms organically since 1990 and biodynamically since 1998, with all vineyards certified biodynamic from 2005, using organic compost, soil work, hand-tended vines, and avoiding chemical herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides. Fermentations rely on indigenous yeasts in large old foudres. With sites including Clos des Capucins, Schlossberg, Furstentum, Mambourg, Marckrain, and Altenbourg, Weinbach focuses on expressing each terroir through balanced, elegant wines, especially noted for Gewurztraminer, as well as dry and sweet Alsace styles.
