Cantine Vincenzo Ippolito

Italy

Founded in 1845, Cantine Vincenzo Ippolito is Calabria’s oldest active winery and remains family-owned, now run by fifth-generation brothers Vincenzo and Gianluca Ippolito. Based near Cirò Marina, the estate includes hillside and seaside vineyards and focuses on recovering and promoting indigenous Calabrian varieties. Farming is conventional but land-conscious, with dry farming, hand-picking, dense planting, and direct control of production. The winery’s style combines research and innovative techniques with traditional practices such as long maceration for red wines. Its Taste the Art project returns part of its profits to the local community, reflecting a broader commitment to social sustainability.
