Bedford Winery is a boutique producer in Los Alamos, California, founded in 1994 and owned since 2003 by veteran winemaker Stephan Bedford. Working primarily with fruit from Los Alamos Valley and other Santa Barbara County vineyards, Bedford focuses on small-lot, handcrafted wines, including 100% varietal bottlings, heritage and lesser-known varieties, distinctive blends, and barrel-fermented Chardonnays and Syrahs. Time-honored techniques, careful barrel selection, and neutral or French oak aging aim to give the wines personality, depth, and an Old World feel. Limited-edition releases are offered mainly through the intimate tasting room and online. Bedford personally pours and discusses the wines in the historic Los Alamos tasting room, which also serves as a setting for culinary and community events.
