Producer

Vinos Atlántico

Spain

Vinos Atlántico is owned and operated by U.S. importers Alberto Orte and Patrick Mata, with Alberto Orte leading winemaking from vine to bottle. Its dry-farmed vineyards lie in Madrid’s Arganda and Navalcarneros districts at around 750 metres, on sandy, limestone and clay soils, with notably low yields. Cover crops are used to absorb humidity and help prevent soil erosion, alongside certified carbon-neutral viticulture. The winery produces Atlantic wines and a very small amount of sherry, with a focus on premium bottlings. Pepe Garcia and Alberto Orte are associated with the project.
