Steinhaus owns and operates its winery and vineyards in Buchholz (Pochi), near Salorno in Alto Adige, at around 600 metres elevation amid mature woodland. Acquired by the Gussalli Beretta family in 2017, the estate grows Pinot Nero, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Kerner and Pinot Bianco on mineral, well-drained soils shaped by marine limestone, glacial moraines and rock fragments. Vines are up to 50 years old, and vineyard grassing supports soil fertility while limiting erosion. SQNPI certified since 2023, Steinhaus uses lower-impact plant protection, sustainable pest management and careful water, energy and waste practices. Its high-altitude wines are defined by freshness, natural acidity, minerality and elegance: whites and Pinot Nero Rosé are made in stainless steel, while the Pinot Nero wines receive wood ageing.
