Quinta do Carmo is an Alentejo estate owned by Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal since 2008, following a joint venture with Lafite Rothschild. It serves as the central production hub for Bacalhôa’s Alentejo wines, with vineyards across Estremoz, Arronches, Borba and Arraiolos on clay-schistous to clay-limestone soils. The wider property also includes olive groves, cereals and cork oak. Winemaking is led by Hugo Carvalho; João Portugal Ramos began his career here. The winery uses organic sediment-removal techniques, although no formal sustainability certifications are cited.
