Producer

Alessandro Viola

Italy

Alessandro Viola is a family-owned, small-scale producer in Alcamo, Sicily, where he works as owner-grower-winemaker from vineyard to bottling. His vineyards, on Mount Bonifato and in the inland valley, are certified organic by Suolo e Salute and farmed with low-input methods including hand ploughing, cover crops, dry farming, no irrigation and manual harvest, alongside biodynamic practices. In the cellar, Viola follows a natural, low-intervention approach with spontaneous native-yeast fermentations, little to no added sulfites, and generally no fining or filtration. He also collaborates with fellow natural wine producer Luigi Stalteri under the Longarico label.
