Produttori di Carema is a small, collectively owned cooperative in Piedmont’s tiny Carema DOC, operated by 71 growers, most farming no more than 0.5 hectares. Its steep, stone-terraced vineyards are worked manually using traditional pergola, or “topia,” training, with stone pillars helping store heat and protect the vines from the local climate. Low-input, organic farming is reported, although no formal organic or biodynamic certification is mentioned. The terraces also help prevent erosion, reflecting a practical, traditional approach to cultivation. The cooperative is associated with Carema’s distinctive mountain viticulture and the dedication of its small-scale growers.
