Place of Changing Winds

Australia

Place of Changing Winds is a boutique estate in Victoria’s Macedon Ranges, founded in 2012 by Robert Walters with partner Kate Millard. Founder-owned and run by a small team, the estate is overseen by winemaker and manager Rémi Jacquemain. Its vineyard is planted at very high density on ancient Bullengarook gravel and rare eroded basalt soils, with a focus on cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Farming is certified organic, with strict organic management across the site. The overall picture is of a small, carefully run estate shaped by site, close attention in the vineyard, and an artisanal approach to organic growing and winemaking.
