Terra Costantino

Italy

Terra Costantino is a family-run estate on Mount Etna’s southeastern slopes in Viagrande, Sicily, founded by Dino Costantino and now led with his son Fabio. One of the first—and described as the first—Etna winery to obtain organic certification, it farms terraced vineyards organically and holds Equalitas sustainability certification. The estate focuses exclusively on native varieties including Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Carricante and Catarratto, expressing the distinct volcanic soils and Contrade of Etna. Winemaking is guided by oenologist Luca D’Attoma and combines traditional methods with innovation, including spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and an underground bio-architecture cellar. A historic 1700s palmento, biodiversity-focused garden vineyards and careful water, energy and packaging practices reinforce the winery’s close connection to its land and heritage.
