Founded by the Gard family in 2000–2001, Coume del Mas is owned and operated by Philippe and Nathalie Gard in the steep, terraced vineyards of Banyuls-sur-Mer, Languedoc-Roussillon. The estate works its vineyards by hand, with occasional horse-drawn plowing and no tractor access, producing very low yields. While no formal sustainability certification is noted, these labor-intensive methods reflect an ecological approach. Winemaking is led by Andy Cook, who joined the estate a few years after its founding.
