Producer

Luis Rodriguez

Spain

Luis Rodriguez has produced Ribeiro wines in Galicia since 1988 at the family-owned Viña de Martín winery, which he owns and operates as both proprietor and winemaker. The estate’s vineyards, mainly around Arnoia, are divided among numerous micro-plots on decomposed granite with sandy topsoil, and are farmed without herbicides, using treatments only when essential and not within a month of harvest. In the cellar, native-yeast fermentations, judicious sulfur use, temperature-controlled vats and restrained oak support a low-intervention approach. White wines are aged on their lees, while the top Escolma wines see only limited new oak, preserving a clear expression of Ribeiro’s vineyards.
