Pietro Beconcini is a family-run winery in the hills of San Miniato, Tuscany, where Leonardo Beconcini and Eva Bellagamba personally oversee the estate. Its roots date to the early 1950s, when the family moved from sharecropping to land ownership. Since the early 1990s, the winery has pursued detailed research into its vineyards and soils, selecting local Sangiovese clones and focusing on traditional varieties rather than international grapes. Certified organic for red wine and olive oil, it emphasizes careful vineyard cultivation and simple, respectful cellar methods. Sangiovese expresses San Miniato’s clay-rich soils through intense color, acidity, and distinctive aromatics and tannins. The estate is also known for its rediscovered Tempranillo, historically adapted to the local terroir, producing wines marked by softness, Tuscan acidity, and minerality.
