Girardet Vineyards

United States

Girardet Vineyards is a family-owned, small-batch estate winery in Oregon’s Umpqua Valley, founded by Philippe and Bonnie Girardet and now led by second-generation winemaker Marc Girardet. With roots dating to the first plantings in 1971, the estate farms pesticide-free, dry-farmed vines in ancient turbidite soils, using hand-pruning and hand-harvesting alongside locally sourced horse-manure compost. Its diverse plantings include both classic and disease-resistant hybrid varieties, reflecting an exploratory approach to sustainable viticulture. Winemaking combines Old-World techniques with modern technology, while Marc favors a traditional, low-intervention style that allows the grapes and site to express themselves.
