Fattoria San Francesco is a family-owned estate in Calabria’s Cirò DOC, set among hills overlooking the Ionian Sea. With roots linked to a monastery founded in 1578, the property has passed from the Siciliani family to the Iuzzolini family, who took control in 2013 and combined local tradition with modern winemaking. The estate focuses on native Calabrian varieties including Gaglioppo, Magliocco, Greco Bianco and Pecorello, alongside Chardonnay. Vineyard work includes manual pruning and careful grape selection, while cellar practices include fermentation in concrete tanks, controlled fermentation and ageing in wooden barrels. The winery emphasizes quality, traditional techniques and the character of Cirò wines, and maintains a regular presence at Vinitaly.
