Acheon Winery is a family-owned estate in Aigialeia, in Greece’s northern Peloponnese, founded in 1946 and now run by the third generation: oenologist Sosanna Katsikosta and her brother Lucas. The winery focuses exclusively on indigenous Greek varieties, including Roditis, Sideritis, Mavrodaphne, Muscat and Agiorgitiko, seeking to express the distinctive terroir of the Aigialeia slopes. Its vineyards occupy mountainous, northerly oriented sites at elevations reaching 1,000 metres, influenced by sea breezes and varied, well-drained soils. The stated philosophy combines generational experience with modern scientific knowledge, minimal-intervention winemaking and respect for people and nature. Harvesting is manual, with gravity-fed handling and modern cellar equipment. Acheon is also part of the Women Winemakers Group and welcomes visitors for tastings and wine-tourism experiences.
