Bodega Altolandon

Spain

Bodega Altolandon is a family-owned estate in Castilla-La Mancha, in the high-altitude DO Manchuela of Cuenca, founded in 1998 by winemaker Rosalia Molina and her husband Manolo Garrote and still run by the couple. Its vineyards sit around 1,100 metres above sea level, with hand-harvested fruit and certified organic farming. The estate also follows biodynamic principles, using natural fertilizers and encouraging biodiversity with free-roaming chickens, sheep, and pigs. In the cellar, Altolandon works with native yeasts and a minimal-intervention approach, fermenting in stainless steel and aging wines in French oak and clay amphorae. The wines are also vegan friendly.
