Antoniolo is a family-run estate in Gattinara, Piedmont, founded in 1948 by Mario Antoniolo and now led by siblings Alberto and Lorella Antoniolo. Their mother, Rosanna, helped guide vineyard acquisition and pioneered single-vine bottlings. The estate farms organically, using integrated pest management, low copper and sulfur inputs, no systemic chemicals or synthetic fertilizers, natural cover crops, and very low SO2. In the cellar, the approach is low-intervention: hand-picked grapes ferment spontaneously in concrete with indigenous yeasts, then the wines age for 36 months in Slavonian and French oak barrels. The focus is firmly on Gattinara, with a traditional, careful style rooted in family stewardship.
