Valli

New Zealand

Valli is an independent, family-originated winery founded in 1998 by pioneering Otago winemaker Grant Taylor and named after his great-great-grandfather. It is a boutique producer focused on terroir-driven, single-vineyard Pinot Noirs from four distinct sub-regions: Gibbston, Bannockburn, Bendigo, and Waitaki Valley, also producing Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Chardonnay. The philosophy is to highlight subregional differences with minimal manipulation. The passionate, hands-on team includes renowned winemaker Jen Parr (New Zealand Winemaker of the Year 2020) and dedicated viticulturists. They practice sustainable farming, though without formal certification, and foster a deep community connection, evidenced by their historic wine bar in Kurow and charity wine projects.
