Meroi is a family-run estate in Buttrio, in Friuli-Venezia Giulia’s Colli Orientali, with roots dating to 1920 and a documented family presence in the area since the 15th century. Paolo Meroi continues the work of earlier generations, cultivating vineyards on the historic Dominin and Zitelle sites. The estate farms organically and participates in Diversity Ark, using detailed soil, plant and insect analyses to guide an agroecological approach. Its marl-and-sandstone hills, varied exposures and temperature differences support both red and white varieties. Grapes are hand-harvested at full maturity, often separately by vineyard and ripeness, then vinified with respect for their intrinsic character. The range includes Friulian varieties such as Ribolla Gialla and Refosco alongside Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Merlot, with selected wines resting in small wooden barrels.
