Masca del Tacco

Italy

Masca Del Tacco is the Puglian estate of the Mergè family’s I Viticoltori project, whose winemaking history began near Rome in 1920 and now spans four generations. Based in Salento, the estate works with native varieties across calcareous, sandy, clay and gravel soils, seeking to express the character of each site. Vineyard work is largely manual, with attentive pruning, balanced yields, limited chemical intervention and efforts to preserve biodiversity, including around a nature reserve. Traditional vinification and restrained use of wood are supported by modern cellar equipment. Masca Del Tacco combines the family’s long agricultural heritage with a contemporary, terroir-focused approach to Puglian wines.
