Sattlerhof is a third-generation, family-owned estate in Sernau, the heart of Südsteiermark. The Sattler family runs the winery alongside a hotel and restaurant, with brothers Andreas and Alexander Sattler leading winemaking and vineyard management. Their steep, small-structured vineyards are farmed biodynamically, certified organic since 2016, and have a long history of avoiding herbicides and pesticides. Wines are hand-selected and made with traditional methods and modern precision, including spontaneous fermentation and careful site selection. The estate produces regional, village and single-vineyard wines, with a focus on elegant, mineral-driven whites from varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Morillon and Weißburgunder. Gamlitz’s calcareous and quartz soils yield spicy, tightly knit wines, while higher-elevation Eichberg produces taut, herbal and mineral styles.
