Prosper Maufoux

France

Founded in 1860, Prosper Maufoux is a long-established Burgundy house based at the Château de Saint-Aubin in the Côte de Beaune. Family-owned and now managed by fifth-generation Aurélien Piffault, it works mainly with Chardonnay and farms with a sustainable, responsible approach certified HVE3, alongside an organic/raisonnée philosophy across its holdings. The wines are guided by Nadine Gublin and are described as elegant, fine and characterful, with a modern low-intervention approach, gentle vinifications, slow extraction and long ageing in lightly toasted fine-grained French oak. Its range spans key Burgundy climats from Saint-Aubin, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet to Chablis, the Côte de Nuits, Côte Chalonnaise and Mâconnais.
