Kistler Vineyards

United States

Founded in 1978 by Steve Kistler and Mark Bixler, Kistler Vineyards is a California producer focused on site-expressive Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from vineyards in Carneros, Sonoma Valley, Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast. The winery is known for single-vineyard bottlings, heritage selections, and a restrained, traditional approach built around night harvesting, native-yeast fermentations, minimal intervention, extended aging in French oak, and handcrafted cellar work. Bill Price purchased an interest in 2008, while Steve Kistler remained involved until his retirement in 2017. Winemaking is now led by Jason Kesner. The estate follows low-impact viticulture but does not hold organic, biodynamic, or other sustainability certifications.
