Gigondas la Cave

France

Cave Gigondas is a cooperative in Gigondas, in the Rhône Valley’s Dentelles de Montmirail, founded in 1956 by seven growers and now bringing together 76 committed artisan vignerons. Their vineyards span varied limestone, marl, sand, gravel and alluvial soils across the Vaucluse, with parcels sometimes farmed by the same families for five generations. The cooperative combines reasoned viticulture, manual harvesting, careful grape selection and gentle pressing with HVE, organic and agroecological initiatives, including sustainable soil management and renewable energy. Precise vinification and controlled élevage aim to express the diversity of its terroirs across Gigondas and other Rhône appellations, while preserving local heritage through cooperation, shared expertise and long-term transmission.
