Gerd Stepp is a small, family-run winery in Bad Dürkheim and Wachenheim in the Pfalz, where Stepp is both owner and sole winemaker. The family vineyards lie on limestone and sandstone soils, with steep, terraced sites that are entirely hand-picked. His approach emphasizes reducing chemical fertilizers and pesticides while building soil organic matter and biodiversity, although the estate holds no formal organic or biodynamic certifications. Alongside direct estate wine production, Stepp operates the WeinWerk consultancy service and offers a vegan-produced wine line. The wines are made on a boutique scale, reflecting a hands-on, owner-operated approach.
