Gál Tibor is a family-owned estate in Eger, Upper Hungary, founded in 1994 by Gál Tibor Sr. Originally established in partnership with Niccolò Incisa Della Rocchetta and BMW Alpina, it later became fully owned by the Gál family. Following the founder’s death in 2005, the winery passed through the family and is now led by Gál Tibor Jr., who continues the house style as chief winemaker. The estate farms several vineyard sites including Nagy-Eged, where volcanic rhyolite tuff soils help shape the wines, alongside other parcels with limestone, brown soils, and volcanic rock. Farming is sustainable and winemaking is vegan, with no formal certification noted.
