Producer

Domaine des Orchis

France

Founded in 2007 by Philippe Héritier, Domaine des Orchis is an independent Savoie estate based near Frangy, with vineyards on steep slopes over nutrient-rich glacial moraines. Héritier remains the producer, operator, and winemaker. Certified organic under AB/Eurofeuille, the domaine follows a committed biodynamic approach, using hand harvesting, grass-covered vineyards, herbal teas, intensive soil and vine work, green harvesting, and low yields. It avoids chemical inputs, cultured yeasts, and purchased grapes, while using only very small doses of sulfites. The wines showcase rare Alpine grape varieties and reflect a hands-on, low-intervention approach to farming and winemaking.
