Domaine de la Pépière

France

Domaine de la Pépière is an organic and biodynamic estate in Maisdon-sur-Sèvre in the Loire Valley, focused on Muscadet Sèvre et Maine and the expression of local terroirs. Founded in 1984 by Marc Ollivier, the domaine is today owned by Rémi Branger and Gwénaëlle Croix, with Marc retired and Philippe Guyonnet cited in production leadership. Vineyard work emphasizes shallow plowing, soil scratching, and manual tasks, with sulfur, copper, plants, and biodynamic preparations used instead of synthetic molecules. The estate farms Melon B. across varied soils including granite, gneiss, gabbro, and granodiorite, and is certified organic from the 2024 harvest, with Biodivin also noted. Harvests are manual, cellar work is kept minimal, and some wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts, bottled unfined, and with low sulfites.
