Domaine de la Côte

Domaine de la Côte is an organic estate in Lompoc, within California’s Sta. Rita Hills, founded from vineyards first discovered and developed by Sashi Moorman and Chris King in 2007 and later acquired by Raj Parr and Moorman in 2013. The domaine is rooted in the appellation’s stark coastal setting, marine-cooled climate, and distinctive diatomaceous shale soils, with a clear focus on Pinot Noir. Farming emphasizes compost, cover crops, and patient vineyard establishment, while the cellar approach is straightforward and low-intervention, with whole-cluster fermentation, indigenous yeasts, and in-house bottling. The wines are described as concentrated yet delicate, shaped by place, with natural complexity, integrity, and strong aging potential.
