Domaine de l’Iserand is a family-owned Northern Rhône estate founded in 2011 by Jean-François “Jef” Malsert on his grandfather’s steep terraced vineyard. Based in the Rhône Valley, the domaine is centered on Syrah grown on granite and mica-schist soils, with additional plantings including Chasselas, Marsanne, Roussanne, and Viognier. Malsert, who owns and operates the estate, farms organically with regenerative methods such as cover crops, grazing animals, and no chemical treatments. In the cellar, he follows a low-intervention approach with hand harvesting, native yeasts, whole-cluster and natural fermentation, minimal sulfur, and aging in neutral oak, amphorae, and demi-muids, sometimes without fining or filtration.
