Château Moulin de Clotte is a family-run estate in Castillon, 45 km east of Bordeaux, established in 1890 and named after the historic La Clotte windmill. Its vineyards lie on a limestone plateau of gravelly sand, clay and limestone, with vines averaging 35–45 years. The estate combines plot-specific vinification with 15-day maceration, malolactic fermentation and 18 months of ageing, mainly in tank with some wood. Vineyard work includes restructuring, periods of soil rest, cereal planting and increased vine density; 80% of the vineyards are described as environmentally certified organic, although no formal certifications are otherwise noted. The wines are produced as a standard cuvée and a Vieilles Vignes bottling.
