Luigi Giordano

Italy

Luigi Giordano is a family-run estate in Barbaresco, Piedmont, rooted in the area for four generations. Founded by Giovanni Giordano and later developed by Luigi, the winery is now led by Luigi, his daughter Laura, and grandson Matteo, who oversees winemaking. The estate farms vineyards in notable Barbaresco crus including Montestefano, Asili, Ovello, Ronchi, Cars, and Cavanna, on Sant’Agata Fossils Marl soils. The family emphasizes environmental protection, organic and sustainable viticulture, and gentle human intervention to preserve site differences. In the cellar, they follow a classic, minimal-intervention approach, using spontaneous fermentation and a mix of steel, cement, wood, and large Slavonian oak to express each vineyard and vintage with clarity.
