Brancaia

Italy

Brancaia is a family-owned Tuscan estate founded in 1981 by Bruno and Brigitte Widmer and still run by the Widmer family under Barbara Widmer. Based in Tuscany with vineyards in Chianti Classico and the coastal Maremma, it combines Swiss precision with Italian style, aiming for harmony, elegance, and a clear expression of terroir. Sustainability is a defining focus: organic certification, vegan-friendly farming, herbicide-free viticulture, year-round cover crops, massal selection, wastewater phytopurification, FSC paper packaging, and CO₂-footprint monitoring. In the cellar, Brancaia emphasizes hand harvesting, gravity flow, parcel-by-parcel vinification, and aging tailored to each wine. Its range includes the historic Supertuscan Il Blu alongside reds, white, rosé, and olive oil.
